Consulting

On every project our people share their experience and apply their expertise to help clients see clearly and develop policy, strategies and plans that work in context.

Larter’s qualified, skilled and experienced consultants support peak bodies, community health services, governments and other non-government organisations to assess health need, secure funding and deliver and evaluate programs.

Larter’s approach to working with clients makes every consulting project unique – we listen carefully to clients’ needs, think deeply about the best approach and collaborate to design a solution.

Larter can help

Identify and respond to health need

Larter helps clients identify and respond to statewide, catchment or target group health needs by:

  • Reviewing Australian and international research evidence
  • Consulting stakeholders through workshops, interviews, surveys and forums
  • Collating and analysing population health data
  • Service mapping and gap analysis
  • Communicating findings to government, sector stakeholders and the community
  • Developing practical and achievable plans to respond to needs assessment findings.

Establish and review your health service

Larter can assist with getting a health service off the ground or back on track.

Larter works with general practices and community health services to review and refine billing and operational systems to bring in additional Medicare or other fee-for-service revenue. We can develop policies, procedures and simple checklists for practice staff to improve compliance with key Medicare rules.

We have helped establish new general practices by developing financial models, assisting with accreditation, working with others to recruit providers and identifying eligibility for government incentives such as the Workforce Incentive Program (WIP) and Practice Incentives Program (PIP).

Manage and evaluate your health program

Larter can help to plan and deliver a program to achieve the outcomes you need.

Larter’s qualified and experienced consultants can develop project management frameworks to help you implement a new project or improve an existing project. We can also supply skilled staff to help turn projects around or supply the human resources required for the job.

Our team has conducted independent evaluations of large-scale national and statewide health programs, through to small community projects. We can provide:

  • Research reviews
  • Evaluation planning, design and implementation
  • Monitoring and evaluation capacity building
  • Data collection and statistical analysis
  • High quality written reports.

Engage and communicate with stakeholders

Larter can help you to engage and communicate with your stakeholders as a stand alone service or as part of a larger project.

We can develop stakeholder engagement plans and facilitate stakeholder input from surveys, focus groups and workshops.

Larter can write, proof and edit your annual reports, program reports or business plans to a professional writing standard. Our team are skilled in writing for diverse audiences – from funding bodies to community members.

We have worked with Primary Health Networks, workforce agencies, general practices, community health services and Aboriginal health services to seek program funding – from thinking through the initial concept, to costing the program, liaising with stakeholders, writing the application, and submission.
